What it is

un-laminated bags, in practice

Without a laminate the board is what you touch. On a dyed or specialty paper that matters: the colour is in the fibre rather than printed on top, and the bag feels like stationery rather than packaging.

It is the quieter option and it photographs beautifully, but it marks more easily than a laminated bag and it does not like rain. For a boutique handing over a folded garment that is rarely a problem; for a bag that will be carried across town in February, laminate is the safer call.

Handles are where these bags are usually finished: grosgrain or satin ribbon, herringbone cotton, or rope in a colour pulled from the brand.

About this bag

+ Is an un-laminated bag strong?

The strength is in the board weight and the handle, not the film. At 250gsm with a ribbon or cotton handle these carry as much as a laminated bag of the same size.

+ Can I have a coloured bag without printing a colour?

Yes. Dyed papers carry the colour through the fibre, so the inside of the bag matches the outside and there is no solid ink to scuff.

+ Which finishes are available?

Foil blocking, embossing and debossing, eyelets and all-over emboss textures. They are most effective on an uncoated surface.
